Question:

English Mac computers in Japan?

I finally decided to switch to Mac, but I'm afraid that I can't get one in Japan because it will have a Japanese operating system and keyboard. Does anyone know about buying an English Mac in Japan, and if so, where do I get one!

  • You can run the Mac OS in any language on any Mac. The only trouble you will have is finding one with the English keyboard. But as Sue stated, you can easily get an English keyboard as an option when ordering through the website. I believe the Apple Stores are also offering this service now. But don't take my word for it, drop in and see. There are always English speaking staff on hand if you get stuck.

  • Apple Japan English Site

Unfortunately, you cant get English Macs at Apple storefronts, but you can get them online. They will be shipped to you for free in about a week. It only costs a little more than the price you'd get in the US, but its worth getting it here. The Apple warranty is good all over the world, so dont worry about that. When you go back home, you'll have as much support available as you do here.
*Dont try buying it from the US Apple site, they won't ship overseas. One must purchase the Mac in the country that he or she wants it delivered. Good news is Apple Japan is one of the largest Apple companies, so you can rest assured.
