Have you ever wondered just how big your 6 tatami room really is? Trying to figure out if it's possible to live in an area of 26 tsubo? Wondering just how many goh of rice is too many goh of rice as you measure it out in the rice cooker?
Online Unit Conversion is the best I've seen yet for converting just about anything to anything. For example, my foot in a Japanese size is 25.5, which means that it most stores in Japan I don't have much choice. But here in Japan I do have the option of mail order, which can be a tricky business if you're trying to order from different countries with different shoe sizes. Well, on the online conversion page for women's shoe sizes I simply choose 25.5, which changes the shoe sizes in all the other categories; US/Canada/Australia I am an 8.5, in Mexico I'm a 5.5, if I took a weekend trip to Korea I'd be a 245, and if ordering from Europe I'd be a 40. The website even gives you tips on how to measure your foot or try on shoes. Recently on a trip to Macau I had no idea what size I was since the shops were a mixture of all world sizes - but I did buy a pair of size 40 shoes, which were American but for some reason sized in the European scale. Having this information before I entered the shop would have helped me out greatly in a situation where I didn't speak the local language!
